Outings with my kids

So I have 6 kids, which seems to be an amazing feat to a lot of people. I am still a size 9 in the junior department, (don't a a single clue what size that is in mom jeans! LOL) and still short. People tell me I look like a kid myself. But I promise I'm an adult! I get carded every time I buy a pack of smokes, and even though I have been able to buy them for about 12-13 yrs now, sometimes it really annoys the hell outta me.

I get asked crazy things all the time, especially when I have all 6 of my kids with me. People ask me things like, "are they all yours?" As if they hope I am going to say no only half of them are. I have been very tempted to say "No, I took this one from a lady in (insert state name here) and this one I got from an orphanage, they just let me have him, oh and him, I just found him in the park." I have a twisted sense of humor apparently. Because once I realize this person is serious, I end up biting my tongue and saying yes they are, every one of them. I even had one lady ask me a follow-up question of "Are you sure, I mean you gave birth to all of them?" to which I was going to reply, no I didn't a couple of them just popped outta my chest like on the movie 'Aliens'," which I would have found hilarious, because well....it is, but she would have thought I was being a wench, which I probably would have been, but at that point I was still searchin for a f*&% to give! So instead I replied, rather a little bored like, "yes ma'am" (because I still respect my elders) "I gave birth to all of them, they are all my flesh and blood children." I was waiting for another question, but she looked too shocked that I answered the question with a yes that she just turned and walked away.

I was even in a restaurant one time with all of them, and I overheard a group of older ladies talking among themselves about how I was probably a foster mother, and how they weren't all mine, they just couldn't be, because I didn't look a day older then 20 myself. I laughed openly at this, which made my children look at me funny and then look around and back at me and ask what I thought was so funny! I was about to answer when one of the ladies tapped me on the shoulder and told me that she was so proud of me for taking in children who didn't have a family of their own and give them one. I just smiled and said," Well I appreciate that, but I don't deserve it." She looked a little puzzled, and asked "Why?" to which I said "Because, you see, they are all MY children, I carried them all and gave birth to them all. They are all my blood!" She then surprised me, because although she looked shocked, she said" Well congratulations, there aren't many women who would brave a restaurant with one child let alone 6, you are a tough woman, and they are so well behaved, what's the secret?" I laughed at this and replied with ease," I'm old school, I believe that if I spared the rod, I would spoil my children, so I commence to handing out a** whoopings whenever they are necessary, I don't have to tell my children more then once to do something, worked for my parents, I survived the whoopings, I figure so will my kids." This got me a good laugh from all the ladies, and when I looked up they were all smiling with approval, and saying great or that's good to hear. That made me feel very good! Not because I got approval from complete strangers, but because they were my elders. So they know how hard it is to raise more then 2 children. Which seems to be becoming the average now. I never did follow trends. I follow my heart! I wanted 8, but God has blessed me with 6, 1 beautiful daughter followed by 5 boys, all of whom will be walking around by the time they are in their early teens patting me on the head telling me not to stress! lol
